The paintings in this series are parodies of the works of the “painter of light” Thomas Kinkade. “Doors” were added to the paintings, which, when opened had graphic statements relating to god, capitalism, war and sex. 
 

When shown at the Fetterly Gallery, a City funded art space in Vallejo,Ca. A church minister took offense at the artwork and began a campaign to have it removed from the gallery. Though unsuccessful, the minister's efforts resulted in Sances' work being featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Vallejo Times the Guardian and the on the BBC making it Sances’ most popular show. Sances said he wished he could hire the minister to attack all his shows.
