Blues for El Salvador
serigraph
1988
Edition 300 • 6 color
16” x 30”

This poster was done for NEST (New El Salvador Today). A very successful benefit with Santana, Gerry Garcia, Bonnie Raitt ,blah blah blah. There was a period of time at the Mission Cultural Center in which we did a lot of art for big time music acts. All I remember about it now is being criticized by Santana for referring to his group as a rock’n roll band.

Personal imagery dealing with consumerism and surrender. This landscape is remembered from my walks in the Berkeley hills looking west towards San Francisco. I am always struck by how much this area has changed in twenty-five years since I arrived.
